Indianapolis Construction Staffing Agency Answering U.S. Labor Shortage - Dean Kinslow With Cruitfly
As the co-founder and Sales Manager for Indianapolis construction staffing agency, Cruitfly, Dean Kinslow's focus is to identify the staffing needs of modern construction managers and fill job openings with qualified laborers.
When Dean is not out walking his two dogs, Winston, a Bernedoodle, and Doug a Goldendoodle, or spending time with his nephew, Max, he is empowering skilled laborers and laying the staffing foundations for construction companies to build a workforce for the future.
The U.S. construction industry is in dire need of reliable laborers right now. It is estimated the construction sector will need between 300,000 to 600,000 new workers every year for the next decade.
“This is a really exciting time for workers to enter the construction industry,” said Dean. “Wages have increased for skilled laborers by 3.2 percent in the last year and new technologies will appeal to tech-savvy millennials.”
There is no doubt that the massive labor shortage presents multiple new opportunities for a wide variety of skills. Working in construction today requires more than practical skills in carpentry, bricklaying, and scaffolding. Contractors are head-hunting highly-educated individuals with degrees in computer science, BIM skills, and knowledge of project management using automated design tools.
Hailing from Thorntown, Indiana, a sleepy town with a modest population of under 2000 people, Dean is all too familiar with the lack of career opportunities that young people find exciting. When you think of the construction industry, excitement and career are not two words that immediately spring to mind.
“You’d be surprised how much the construction industry has changed recently,” says Dean. “Newcomers to the industry will have to learn the necessary hands-on skills, but there are so many innovations in construction that you can choose your own path. And the opportunities seem endless. One day the doors could open to a lucrative management position or you could even start your own business within the construction industry.”
As a devoted believer in God, Dean has faith the U.S. construction industry will find, recruit and train people to install the infrastructure the country needs. If President Joe Biden says America will Build Back Better, Dean is determined to build a bridge between the U.S. workforce and the companies that need them the most.
"Faith is about trusting God when you have unanswered questions."
